I had a lot of fun putting this one together for Mallory and Paul.  Paul is big into baseball, so we filmed most of this at a baseball park in Orem.  It was a bit challenging and a lot of work to make whole baseball teams out of just two people, but they had a lot of fun, and I think all the hard work paid off.  They are such a sweet couple, and they both had such wonderful things to say about each other.  I don’t doubt that they will continue to be happy through all the curveballs that life throws at them.

It was my great joy and pleasure to work with Angie and Eric.  I learned a lot about them as we shot their love story, one being that they’ve never seen or heard of the movie Ghost!  Man, am I really that old?  Anyways, I hope you enjoy their love story!

Carly and Dave were married on July 25, but unfortunately I was already booked for that day, but they still really wanted to do a love story film.  They had such nice things to say, and I can tell they really care for each other.  It was a pleasure putting this together for them.  And they made some tasty waffles for me too.

I really enjoyed working with Stacie and Justin, and they’ve got a great love story, complete with a skydiving proposal.  And they made me try sushi for the first time.  Not bad.  I hope you enjoy their love story, their prewedding film at the Draper Temple will be posted later this week.

I had a really great time shooting with Kyra and Anthony last month.  They are a lot of fun and I’m sure they’ll have a long and happy life together.  We had a great time at Boondocks, it’s always really fun to shoot there.  Hope you enjoy it!

As promised, here is Brittany and James’ love story.  Quite different from Elena and Victor’s, they dated slightly longer than 7 days–they actually dated all through high school.  They were great fun to work with.  I’ll hopefully have each of their temple films from their double wedding up soon.

Elena and Victor had an unusual dating relationship before they got engaged, in that it lasted for only a few days before he popped the question.  And apparently Facebook is a tool in getting people together these days, who knew?  So they had a fun love story to tell, and I had a great time putting it together.  Elena and her sister Brittany decided on a double wedding back in March, you can see the teaser for their temple films here.  I’ll be posting Brittany & James’ love story later this week.

First of all, let’s start off with the basics and clarify the difference between a love story film and a date film:

Love Story — The bride and groom being interviewed, telling their story of how they came to be together, along with them having fun doing an activity they enjoy. 

Date — Bride and Groom on a date, having fun.  Edited like a music video to a song of their choice.

So the big question is, which one is right for you?  Honestly, the best love stories that we have put together are for those who have an interesting story to tell, and can tell their story well.  Here’s a good example of one.

If you don’t like to talk in front of the camera or don’t have much more to say than “I just really love him and he’s so awesome!”, then you may want to go with the date option.  Some brides think they have to do a  love story because their older sister or mom did one.  I say do what’s best for you, and that will make a much better video!

Some couples just want to have fun and be relaxed and show their personality, and the Date film is a great way to do that.    Pick an activity that you both enjoy, or just have fun together, and pick a song that means something to the both of you, and we can turn it into an awesome date film.  Go to the Date Films page to see some good examples.

Filming Whitney & Steve’s love story gave Spencer and I the opportunity to visit Logan, Utah,  a place we haven’t been to since we were in college, which has been at least 10 years (holy crap we’re getting old).  First of all, it was so much fun to be there, and remember the college days and to see the Utah State campus again.  We really had a good time with Whitney and Steve too, just running around the Quad, or filming them riding tandem bikes (Spencer hung out of the trunk while I drove).  They are getting married on May 15 in the Salt Lake Temple, and I will be posting that next week, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy their love story!
