Think Giant.

We are so excited about the upcoming year! Every year we have a great opportunity to work with fabulous couples and families, and last year was no exception. We had a lot of fun shooting this date film, it was done on Halloween at Thanksgiving Point.  Veronica and Scott are cute and crazy couple, and I hope you enjoy their fun date film!

I’ve done a few dates at Liberty Park, but I haven’t had any couple play at their tennis center before.  These guys are some mean tennis players!  They had a lot of fun playing each other, and also riding a tandem bike around.  Today is also their wedding day, so I’ll be posting their temple film too as well.  Hope you enjoy it!

First of all, let’s start off with the basics and clarify the difference between a love story film and a date film:

Love Story — The bride and groom being interviewed, telling their story of how they came to be together, along with them having fun doing an activity they enjoy. 

Date — Bride and Groom on a date, having fun.  Edited like a music video to a song of their choice.

So the big question is, which one is right for you?  Honestly, the best love stories that we have put together are for those who have an interesting story to tell, and can tell their story well.  Here’s a good example of one.

If you don’t like to talk in front of the camera or don’t have much more to say than “I just really love him and he’s so awesome!”, then you may want to go with the date option.  Some brides think they have to do a  love story because their older sister or mom did one.  I say do what’s best for you, and that will make a much better video!

Some couples just want to have fun and be relaxed and show their personality, and the Date film is a great way to do that.    Pick an activity that you both enjoy, or just have fun together, and pick a song that means something to the both of you, and we can turn it into an awesome date film.  Go to the Date Films page to see some good examples.

Karli & Paul and I went down to Boondocks, which is a really cool fun center with all sorts of things like mini golf, go karts, batting cages, arcade, etc. We had a blast! They’re a really cool couple, and I can’t wait to do their temple edit later today (stay tuned for that video). They’re showing their wedding film as a special presentation at their reception and it’s going to be in Blu-Ray. I’m so excited (and a bit of a geek too, I know)!

Loved doing Cami & Braden’s date film! For all those couples out there who think that they don’t have any good ideas for doing a date video, this is good proof that it’s okay. We just goofed off and had fun in good ol’ downtown SLC, put it to some awesome music, and it made a great video. The most important thing is to feel comfortable and have fun. Hope you like it!

Tara and Jeremy are getting married today at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Here’s their date film. We had a blast riding motorcycles and playing with their dogs in the park. I hope you enjoy it!

We were excited to receive 2 more Creative Excellence awards from UPVA last week. The competition was great this year. So many awesome videos were submitted. We were proud to come home with 2nd place in the Date Video Production Category for Tiffany & John’s fun Liberty Park Date Film. and 3rd place in the Event Video Category for Brighton High School Girls Soccer Highlight DVD. We are so grateful to have such awesome clients that allow us to put together such entertaining productions. 

We are also so glad to be part of UPVA, We have so many helpful and dedicated members this year, and it really is amazing to get together with them each month and all learn from each other.

Here is Michelle & Joshua’s fun horseback riding date film. It was filmed up Hobble Creek Canyon. Watch for the cat in multiple shots. It followed us around the whole time.
