Think Giant.

The LDS Bride was kind enough to feature Giant Brothers Films on their blog recently, showcasing one of our past weddings that we shot with photographer extraordinaire Jon Woodbury. Of the 6 UPVA awards Giant Brothers received last week, here’s the 1st place Date Video Production, courtesy of the Veronica & Scott wedding. I love doing date films, they’re one of my most favorite things to film. To just see a couple relaxing and having fun, and being able to capture that is great. So, enjoy!

This is an award I was really excited to get.  I put a lot of effort into making my new wedding demo each year, and it can be really hard because I have such great clients to show off.  So here’s the demo from last year, that recently earned an award in our UPVA Creative Excellence Competition.  (Don’t forget to see our NEW demo from this year here)

We had a great time last night at the 8th annual UPVA Creative Excellence Awards.  With such great talent in this state, we feel honored to have won 6 awards.  We’ll be posting one award winning video each day, so be sure to check back to see all of them.  Here’s the 2nd place winner in the Bride and Groom Production, starring the amazing Whitney and Steve Olsen!

We are so grateful and honored to win an International Award for Post-Ceremony Production at this year’s WEVA’s Creative Excellence Awards. This association is for wedding and event videographers from around the world, so to have won two of these awards (the first was a Gold Award in 2006) with such massive talent out there is amazing. Thanks so much to Kylee and Jason, the real stars of this winning film!

Last night we held our 7th annual UPVA Creative Excellence Awards at the Megaplex 20 in South Jordan.  It was a really fun night, and I’m proud to bring home 4 awards.  Here’s the winners:

We are excited once again to have a booth at Salt Lake’s Premier Wedding Show. It is next Saturday, January 17th at The Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Drop by and see us. We will be on the second, or Mezzanine level. There is so many great wedding vendors there, and you can’t beat the location. Drop by and see us!

We were excited to receive 2 more Creative Excellence awards from UPVA last week. The competition was great this year. So many awesome videos were submitted. We were proud to come home with 2nd place in the Date Video Production Category for Tiffany & John’s fun Liberty Park Date Film. and 3rd place in the Event Video Category for Brighton High School Girls Soccer Highlight DVD. We are so grateful to have such awesome clients that allow us to put together such entertaining productions. 

We are also so glad to be part of UPVA, We have so many helpful and dedicated members this year, and it really is amazing to get together with them each month and all learn from each other.

I was just nominated and elected as the UPVA President-Elect, which is similar to a Vice President role, but also implies that next year I will be President.  UPVA, or Utah Professional Videographers Association, is a great organization for videographers of all kinds.  Many members do mainly wedding videography, but most also offer other services to individual and corporate clients.  It’s a great group to be a part of and we learn a lot from each other.  I was on the board last year as webmaster, and am excited to stay on the board and serve my fellow colleagues. The other new board members are listed on the UPVA website.

There will be no time for us to rest in the next 10 days–right after we finish this weekend’s Utah Bride and Groom Gala, we have to gear up for next week’s wedding show, Salt Lake’s Premier Wedding Show at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on January 19.  It will be a great wedding show with the cream of the crop in wedding vendors.  Plus it’s FREE for everyone.  Just click here to register.  We’re going to be in Booth 34 on the Mezzanine Level, showing off our new HD Demo with plenty of demo DVDs to hand out.  So if you’re getting married, come on out.  If you’re not getting married, then spread the word to your friends and family who are.  We hope to see lots of people at these two events!
